Parco dell’Oglio Nord (North Oglio Park)

The Parco dell’Oglio Nord covers 14,170 hectares in the area of the river of the same name, which flows out of Lake Iseo. Two municipalities in Franciacorta, Paratico and Capriolo, are inside the park and offer interesting routes to discover the area as well as initiatives to promote the environment, flavours and traditions.

The large variety of flora and fauna is an important asset for the North Oglio Park. The forest is home to poplars, willows and locust trees. Ivy climbs the trees while the undergrowth is rich in mullein, nettle, dead nettle, hops, lesser periwinkle and yellow anemone.

The park is also inhabited by various mammals such as fallow deer, foxes and squirrels, birds of different species and insects such as bugs, beetles and butterflies of different colours.
