Nestled in the heart of Franciacorta, on the hills of Ome at an altitude of 650 metres, lies Fattoria Cà de Bì. Its story is not rooted in generations of farmers, but in a courageous life-changing decision. Massimiliano, a former business executive from Tuscany, chose to leave behind the fast-paced corporate world as he approached his fiftieth birthday, pursuing a lifelong passion and returning to the land and its animals. In 2020, the farm began to take shape, quickly growing into a dynamic, ethical agricultural enterprise guided by a deep respect for nature and its rhythms.
Today, Cà de Bì is both a farmhouse and a working farm with an exceptionally short supply chain. When you visit this peaceful corner of Franciacorta, you will discover:
- Chamois-Coloured Goats and Artisan Cheese: The heart of the farm is its herd of more than twenty goats. Their high-quality milk is processed directly in the farm’s own dairy, where it is transformed into fresh and aged cheeses, yoghurt, and ricotta of outstanding authenticity, all available for purchase at the farm shop.
- A Large Animal Family: Beyond the goats, visitors will meet donkeys, geese, chickens, rabbits, busy honeybees, and Jack, the farm’s loyal guard dog. Together they create a thriving rural ecosystem where animal welfare always comes first.
- Experiences and Activities: Throughout the year, the farm hosts cheesemaking workshops where guests can learn the art of traditional cheese production, “Farm Snacks” (Merende in Fattoria), tastings, and seasonal events such as the Spring Birth Festival, celebrating the arrival of newborn animals. This year, Cà de Bì also offers its Sunday Lunch, featuring local flavours and farm-fresh ingredients. Visitors can even enjoy a charming treehouse nestled among the surrounding greenery.
Cà de Bì is a magical meeting place in Ome, where time slows down and nature welcomes every visitor with warmth, authenticity, and simplicity.
