In the village of Adro, a stone tower with Ghibelline battlements and tetragonal plan are all that remains of the area’s medieval defensive system, along with the ruins of the drawbridge, located at the entrance to the ancient castle.
The 13th-century tower stands on a rise on the slopes of Monte Alto, while the remains of the castle stand on another hillock opposite. After the construction of the Church of San Giovanni Battista at the end of the 18th century, the tower became the bell tower of the village of Adro.
