In Ferghettina, the family shares everything: the work, the wine, the enjoyment of drinking a Franciacorta bottle around the table, savouring the product of this passion.
It is a family of farmers, who have formed a strong bond with the land, which provides work, takes effort and brings joy every day.
The farm was established thanks to the initiative, intuition and foresight of Roberto Gatti.
Born in 1953 into a family of farmers and winemakers, Roberto moved with his family to Erbusco, in the heart of Franciacorta, when he was a child. In his youth, he worked with his father in a Franciacorta winery and then, on his own, in another well-known wine estate as cellar and vineyard manager.
He has been doing this for over 20 years, and has an in-depth knowledge of Franciacorta viticulture and the latest winemaking techniques. In 1990, with his wife Andreina, Roberto took over the management of 4 hectares of land in the municipality of Erbusco and a building he then converted into a wine cellar. After the harvest of 1991, he presented his first two wines: a Terre di Franciacorta Red and a White.
Ferghettina was born, taking its name from the area on which the winery’s headquarters is built.
Today the company manages 200 hectares of organically farmed vineyards in 11 municipalities of Franciacorta, making the most of the differences between the various soils with tangible advantages in terms of wine quality.
