Ciapél

The family-run Ciàpèl farm was established in 1921 in the village of Parmezzana Calzana, in the province of Brescia. Its vineyards, extending over 7 hectares, produce 35,000 bottles a year according to integrated viticulture principles.

The name of the company derives from the word in dialect ‘ciàpèl’, which means “a small piece of wood without a well-defined shape achieved by cutting and processing logs”. In recent years, production has focused on Franciacorta DOCG wine, for which a completely underground cellar was recently built. Today the product range includes: Brut, Extra Brut and Rosé Brut. While the logistics and equipment have been updated in order to keep improving working conditions (even disgorging is carried out independently), the approach that has always distinguished Ciàpel’s production and commercial philosophy has remained unchanged. Like their father, who had already started the production of bottle-fermented wines at the end of the Seventies, the Gavazzi brothers personally cultivate their vineyards and process in the winery only the grapes they have harvested themselves. The entire production is sold directly in the winery, making them almost self-sufficient in production and commercial terms.
