Sea, sunshine, beach life, and Italy’s most iconic sparkling wine. This is the most effervescent combination of the Italian summer, especially when paired with fine cuisine, the slow rhythm of days by the coast, and that relaxed elegance that only Versilia can embody. Evenings grow longer, aperitivo tables begin to fill, and glasses start clinking by the sea. And it is precisely here that one of the most anticipated weeks of the summer season begins.
From May 29 to June 5, the Franciacorta Versilia Week 2026 returns — the annual event celebrating the encounter between great Italian wines, hospitality, and lifestyle in some of the most iconic locations along the Tuscan coast. More than just tastings and themed dinners, it is a true summer story unfolding across Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Viareggio, and Marina di Pietrasanta through beach clubs, restaurants, and seaside lounge bars.
Versilia, long considered a symbol of impeccable Italian summer holidays, becomes the perfect stage for expressing Franciacorta’s most contemporary and convivial side. Here, the wine finds its most natural setting: at sunset, alongside seafood dishes, during elegant yet informal dinners, or at aperitifs that stretch late into the night.
“Versilia has always represented one of the symbolic destinations of the Italian summer and quality hospitality. Returning here with Franciacorta means strengthening the natural bond between our territory and a lifestyle built on conviviality, elegance, and a culture of fine drinking. Franciacorta Versilia Week is the perfect opportunity to showcase the versatility of our labels in authentic and contemporary settings, alongside great cuisine and within some of the most iconic venues on the Italian coast,” comments Emanuele Rabotti, President of the Franciacorta Consortium.
Throughout the week, participating venues will offer special menus and pairings designed to highlight the many expressions of the appellation, from Satèn to Rosé, from Brut to Millesimato. All of this without the rigidity of formal technical tastings, but rather with the light and sophisticated spirit of the finest summer evenings. Because this is precisely Franciacorta’s strength — especially in Versilia: the ability to accompany different moments while always maintaining a distinctive, never excessive style.
The season will symbolically open with Versilia Gourmet, scheduled for May 25. The event dedicated to the excellence of Versilia’s dining scene has become a key appointment for industry professionals, chefs, and fine dining enthusiasts alike. A long-standing partner of the event, Franciacorta will once again accompany this edition with a selection of labels paired with the creations of the featured chefs, further strengthening its connection with the world of Italian haute cuisine.
Three key dates to mark in the calendar: the gala dinner on May 25 at Hotel Paradis in Pietrasanta for Versilia Gourmet; the opening night on May 29 at Bagno La Pia in Viareggio, officially launching Franciacorta Week; and finally, the closing gala on June 5 at Vignaccio al Mare in Marina di Pietrasanta, the final toast of a week already filled with the scent of summer.
In between, a constellation of events spread all along the coast: seaside aperitifs, Franciacorta by the glass at Versilia’s most beloved beach clubs, meetings with producers, and evenings designed to experience wine in a spontaneous and contemporary way. Not simply events, but experiences that tell the story of a lifestyle built on conviviality, taste, and lightness.
Because there are places and flavors capable of instantly evoking the Italian summer. And when Franciacorta meets Versilia, the result is exactly this: a week to be enjoyed slowly, one toast at a time.
