The Contadi Castaldi winery was established in the late 1980s in the beautiful Franciacorta region. Covering 160 hectares, this winery produces around 1,300,000 bottles a year.
The winery was established from the union of a place name “Contadi Castaldi”, which encapsulates the centuries-old history of Franciacorta, and an old brickyard and kiln, the “Fornace Biasca”, which was purchased by Vittorio Moretti and his wife Mariella. In the Middle Ages, the contadi were small areas of land known for their excellent agricultural products, while the castaldi were the lords who governed these lands.
Contadi Castaldi’s traditions are as dynamic, lively and contemporary as they are true to their roots.
