Camossi is a family-run business founded by Pietro Camossi in 1996, and since 2002 has been run by brothers Claudio and Dario Camossi. The company’s vineyards cover 30 hectares and are located in 5 municipalities in Franciacorta: Erbusco, the heart of Franciacorta where the estate is based, Paratico, in the far west of Franciacorta, overlooking Lake Iseo, Provaglio D’Iseo, in the pre-Alpine area to the northeast of Franciacorta, Passirano and Cologne, at the foot of Monte Orfano. Production stands at around 70,000 bottles, all produced without added sugars either at the refermentation stage or the final dosage.
Great importance is given to long ageing on the lees for all the reserve wines in the CR project, which takes the initials of the surnames Camossi and Rescali, the parents of Dario and Claudio, who bottled the first bottle of Franciacorta in 1997, the utmost expression of the Franciacorta terroir, with 142 months “sur lies” or more.
