Mosnel

The Mosnel winery is a centuries-old residence, with 16th-century wine cellars and adjoining land, that bears witness to the long winemaking tradition inherited by the Barboglio family in 1836. This vocation was continued thanks to the intuition of Emanuela Barboglio, when she planted the first specialised vineyards, and in 1968 adopted the newly created Franciacorta DOC (CDO – Controlled Designation of Origin). In 1976 the name “Azienda Agricola Barzanò Barboglio” was abandoned in favour of the current “Mosnel”, a toponym in dialect of Celtic origin meaning “pietraia”, a pile of stones, on which the farm stands.

In the summer, from May to October, picnics offering local specialities paired with Franciacorta wines can be organised and enjoyed in special areas within the 42 hectares of vineyards.
