The Il Dosso winery was founded in 1997 by Luca Archetti, who wanted to fulfil his father Augusto’s dream, as well as that of five generations of winegrowers.
“Nature has its own rhythms and they must always be respected,’ Luca often repeats. And it is precisely this philosophy that the winery is based on: avoiding making amendments in the cellar in favour of an almost maniacal care of the vineyard. Behind a quintessential wine is an obsessive work on the bases. The improvement of individual cultivars is another cornerstone of Archetti’s philosophy. Instrumental to Archetti’s production philosophy is communication. For the winery, it is essential that everyone understands what is being done, which is why the invitation to come to the winery to taste the wine directly from the vats is always open.
The Il Dosso wine cellar is located in a farmhouse dating back to 1900 and guided tasting experiences can be booked every weekend. In summer, horse riding and vineyard picnics are organised.
