A love for the land, the vines and its products has accompanied the Bontempi family for generations. The unique character of the hilly terrain, which features steep, sun-exposed slopes and calcareous, clay and above all rocky soil, gives the grapes grown by the Bontempi family an unmistakable minerality, freshness and flavour, ideal for the bases of these fine products.
The strong link to the most authentic local traditions and to the land is not only seen in the family history, but it is also evident from the choice of the name of the winery. The expression ‘le cantorie’ comes from local dialect and, according to the elderly of the area, derives from the tireless singing of the cicadas that animates the hillside during harvest time. This sweet memory of the past has become interwoven into the company, which focusses on modernity, innovation and functionality.
