1701 Franciacorta, a historic winery located in Cazzago San Martino was taken over in 2012 by the Stefini brothers who, together with their friends Marco, Giulio and Andrea, breathed new life into the winery in accordance with the principles and methods of organic and biodynamic viticulture. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines are grown on its 10 hectares of land.
The 1701 Franciacorta winery works to increase and maintain the fertility of the soil by nurturing humus, a fundamental factor. The deep connection with nature and respect for its rhythms has led to the farm abolishing the use of chemical and pesticides. The biodynamic method of farming enriches the sandy, silty soil with micro- and macro-biological life. The 1701 Franciacorta winery produces wine that reflects the characteristics of the grapes and soil. No sugar or liqueur d’expedition are added during winemaking, resulting in clean, fresh and fruity wines.
