The Cola Battista wine estate was founded in 1985 and its vineyards extend for about 8 hectares between the municipalities of Adro and Corte Franca, at the foot of Monte Alto. Although the Cola Battista winery is capable of producing around 50-60 thousand bottles a year, the entire production cycle has maintained the character of a family-run business.
The Cola Battista winery owes its establishment to the commitment of Battista, from whom it takes its name. Battista’s father, Giovanni, had already started cultivating vines in Franciacorta in 1945, when he returned from the war, and through his wine rediscovered the joy of small things created with care. Certainly one of these small things was cultivating the vines by hand and harvesting each bunch to produce wine according to ancient traditions, waiting for the slow passage of time necessary to make each bottle of Franciacorta wine great. Battista has embraced these principles and has managed to use them to create a wine estate in every sense of the word: the Cola Battista winery. Today the farm is run by Stefano, Battista’s son, who with the same dedication produces bottles of Franciacorta wine of the highest quality. The bottles of Cola Battista Franciacorta wine encapsulate all the patience it takes to make a unique wine, as well as particular attention to caring for the environment and the vineyard. Sixty per cent of the energy required is obtained from a photovoltaic system, so that the vines are protected and can also provide future generations with wines with an unmistakable flavour.
