Le Marchesine is a wine estate based in Passirano, in the heart of Franciacorta. Founded in 1985 by Giovanni Biatta, it is the result of the hard work of a family which has been in the wine business for more than a century. The company now produces around 550,000 bottles of Franciacorta DOCG per year.
Production is designed to get the most out of the local area with balanced, easy drinking and precise Franciacortas whose style is recognisable and coherent. The goal is to offer wines capable of meeting the needs of both sector operators and wine lovers.
Le Marchesine cultivates over 52 hectares of vineyards located in various parts of the Franciacorta wine zone and adopts an approach which combines agricultural and technical expertise with artisan attention to detail. All production phases, from vineyard management to ageing, are managed in-house to ensure constant quality standards.
It is now Loris Biatta, founder Giovanni’s son, who is at the helm of the wine estate, as current head of the family and owner, together with his children Andrea and Alice, in a journey which combines family continuity and business development.
The wine cellars have recently been extended and modernised to make room for both production and hospitality and can host visitors, operators and partners in a setting which is representative of the area.
