Cantine Manessi had already started to produce wine in the post-war period with grandfather Luigi, a baker, who used to exchange bread for grapes and then vinify and sell his production, achieving a fair amount of success. Later, his son Isidoro ‘made wine-making’ his profession and became a wine merchant. In 1974 the headquarters were moved from the old town centre of Monticelli Brusati to its current location, a shed at the beginning of the village with working underground wine cellar. Since 1990 the company has been run by Isidoro’s sons, Gianluigi and Alessandro.
