Muratori – Franciacorta

Now in its third generation, the Muratori family has been devoted to the production of Franciacorta since 1999, making wine from its own grapes grown on 60 hectares of vineyards, which are located in each of Franciacorta’s six Vocational Units.
The cellars cover a surface area of 15,000 square metres and penetrate nearly 20 metres down into the ground, enabling gravity to be used to move musts at harvest time and guaranteeing a constant microclimate in the various periods of the year. The agri-photovoltaic system, suspended above one of the vineyards adjacent to the winery (one of the first made in Italy), also guarantees energy self-sufficiency.
Visits to the cellars involve tours of the winemaking spaces to show visitors all our wine’s production phases, step by step, from pressing to disgorging, and last around 40 minutes. Next comes a Franciacorta Muratori Brut and Franciacorta Millé Brut Millesimato tasting.
From 2024 onwards two still Sebino IGT wines have been added to our Franciacortas: Setticlavio, 100% Chardonnay, and Mantorosso, 100% Pinot Nero. These are designed to get the most out of the grapes grown on a selection of vineyards owned by the family, in a limited and numbered edition.
The project is the work of Riccardo Cotarella (with Muratori since the 2020 harvest) and was born of a desire to experiment with new wines, together, in an area as naturally endowed with winemaking potential as Franciacorta.
