For the second year in a row, the Television Academy, organizer of the Emmy® Awards, has chosen Franciacorta as their Official Sparkling Wine.
For the second consecutive year, Franciacorta is proud to have been the Official Sparkling Wine of the Emmy Awards, which were presented yesterday, Monday 12 September, with an awards ceremony held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, broadcast live on NBC and numerous international channels (in Italy it was broadcast by Sky), followed by the Governors Ball, a gala dinner where the award-winners were able to toast with Franciacorta together with an exclusive parterre of celebrities and prominent figures from the American film industry.
The award-winning actors and actresses included: Zendaya (best leading actress in a Drama series), Lee Jung-jae (best leading actor in a Drama series), Jason Sudeikis (best leading actor in a Comedy series), Jean Smart (best leading actress in a Comedy series), Michael Keaton (best leading actor in a limited series), Amanda Seyfried (best leading actress in a limited series).
During the evening, hosted by Kenan Thompson, there was a live performance by John Legend, a DJ set by Grammy Award winner Zedd, and a cooking show with leading American celebrity chefs (Shirley Chung, Jet Tila, Sherry Yard, Nyesha Arrington, Mei Lin and Adam Perry Lang), all accompanied by glasses of Franciacorta that guests were able to enjoy at the Franciacorta bar created for the occasion.
Guests at the event included several Italian personalities from the arts and entertainment business who have been living for years in Los Angeles and are symbols of Italian “know-how” such as Marta Pozzan, actress, short movies’ writer and mental health coach, in the cast of From Scratch, soon to be released on Netflix, Elisa Sednaoui, model, actress and businesswoman committed to social work, and Giuseppe Giofrè, a professional dancer who works with top international stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift.
The Emmy Awards are the most prestigious event of the year for American television, celebrating the most outstanding achievements and talented performers from the entire industry. Television’s growing success in recent years as a major entertainment and family enjoyment venue has attracted international film and theatre actors and created an increasingly loyal worldwide audience.
