Two Days, Two Sides of Franciacorta: Captivating Munich Between Cinema Glamour and a New Stop on Its International Festival Tour

22 June 2026

Sometimes, worlds that seem far apart unexpectedly come together. That is exactly what will happen in Munich, a city that embraces contrasts and, with its blend of history, creativity, and cosmopolitan elegance, will provide the backdrop for two days dedicated entirely to Franciacorta.

On June 28 and 29, the Denomination will take center stage at two events that differ in atmosphere and audience, yet share the same spirit of conviviality. On one side, the allure of the silver screen; on the other, meaningful exchanges with professionals and wine enthusiasts. Two distinct dimensions that showcase Franciacorta’s ability to move effortlessly between different worlds.

The journey begins at the Munich Film Festival, where Franciacorta will be featured at the Constantin Film Reception, one of the most prestigious and long-standing events in the German film industry. Set in the elegant Café Roma, directors, actors, producers, and leading figures from the cultural world will gather for one of those occasions that are an integral part of every major festival: conversations, encounters, and the relaxed atmosphere that defines the most memorable parties. It is only fitting that Franciacorta will serve as the event’s official sparkling wine, accompanying the moments of connection and conviviality that have always been at the heart of great film festivals.

The following day, the story shifts in tone, while maintaining the same spirit of hospitality and togetherness. The Charles Hotel will host the Festival Franciacorta Munich, the latest stop in an international series of events through which the Franciacorta Consortium aims to strengthen the Denomination’s presence in key export markets.

The day will begin with a masterclass led by Maximilian Wilm, Best Sommelier of Germany 2019, offering participants an in-depth exploration of the many expressions of the Franciacorta territory. It will then continue with a walkaround tasting featuring twenty-one Franciacorta wineries. More than a simple tasting event, the format is designed to foster dialogue, networking, and exchange, creating an environment where business and the pleasure of discovery naturally coexist.

Ultimately, this is not so different from what happens in cinema. Over the course of 48 hours, the protagonists may change, but stories, relationships, and the ability to create meaningful connections remain at the center. And perhaps that is the most compelling aspect of Munich’s two-day celebration: demonstrating how Franciacorta can move seamlessly from the glamour of Filmfest München to the more intimate atmosphere of the Festival Franciacorta, while preserving its distinctive style and identity.
