La Costa di Ome, established in 2001 in the village of Ome, is a small family-run business. Its vineyards, covering just over 5 hectares, are mostly terraced and have different sun exposure. The production is on a small scale by nature and by choice, and the vines produce grapes of excellent quality that are vinified with great care and attention, also in terms of the health aspects of the product, resulting in a Franciacorta DOCG with no added sulphites.
La Costa di Ome was established from a strong desire to keep alive the passion of grandfather Bigio Papi (Luigi), who loved to spend his days on the hills of Franciacorta taking care of his vineyards. The cellar was built in two stages: the underground part was dug into the rock in 2001; the semi-covered lateral part, used as a storage area for tools and machinery, was completed in 2010.
