Located in an old country house dating back to the 16th century, Lo Sparviere (the sparrowhawk) farm is a timeless place that emanates history and love for the land. Situated in a dominant position, it is a splendid example of the architecture of the period. The beauty of the owner’s frescoed rooms, which witnessed great hospitality, has been preserved. The winery owes its name to the depiction of the sparrowhawk on the majestic fireplace in the living room of the manor house, the historic centre of the winery. All the wine estate’s vineyards are located in the municipalities of Monticelli Brusati and Provaglio d’Iseo.
The soils in this area consist of calcareous marls. It is precisely this composition, rich in minerals and sedimentary clays, typical of this environment, which gives structure and flavour to Lo Sparviere Franciacorta wines. The grapes from the various vineyards are vinified separately, so as to express and distinguish the individual terroirs. Only through the utmost care for the vineyard and the land, the rigorous selection of the grapes and the careful work of man in the cellar can excellence be achieved. This precise identity is recognised and brought to life in the different types of Franciacorta Lo Sparviere: Brut, Extra Brut, Satèn, Rosé and Dosaggio Zero.
